CWS seeks National Director

Christian World Service(CWS) is seeking a national director after its Director Murray Overton announced he will step down from his role at the ecumenical aid and development agency.

Christian World Service (CWS) is seeking an energetic, strategic National Director to lead their dynamic aid and development organisation into the future.

The new CWS National Director with need to demonstrate significant experience in organisational leadership and show a commitment to building inclusive partnerships that can deliver effective, life-changing international development.

Candidates for CWS National Director will share the agency’s hope in a world without poverty and injustice, and will bring high-level professional skills in management of people, fundraising, and finance.

The National Director role is critical in upholding and strengthening the work of Aotearoa New Zealand’s oldest ecumenical aid and development agency, whose work in the Christmas Appeal, worldwide emergency relief and development work, and Treaty-based cooperation in Aotearoa New Zealand has met the highest standards of church aid and development over its seven decades.

Christian World Service’s National Director will support Aotearoa-New Zealand based partner churches to challenge and address poverty and injustice, enable development work – particularly in the Pacific –respond to natural disasters, and build movements for positive change.

The National Director will need to be able to relate the Christian gospel to the work of CWS with ease and communicate well with a wide range of audiences.

The CWS National Director will lead, manage and support a small and experienced staff team based in Otautahi - Christchurch.
