Aucklanders to uplift city in prayer

Bishop of Tai Tokerau, Rt Rev Te Kitohi Pikaahu will lead prayers at the NZ Christian Network's inaugural Prayer Breakfast this month.

Bishop Kito PIkaahu will lead prayers at the city's first annual large-scale Prayer Breakfast at Eden Park on Thursday 27 October.

The event organised by the Auckland Church Leaders Meeting and New Zealand Christian Network will be modelled on successful prayer breakfasts in Washington, London and Sydney, drawing on support from World Vision, Christian Savings, Bible Society and Rhema Media.

Bishop Kito Pikaahu will join NZ Christian Network''s invited church leaders Pastor Tak Bhana, Princess Mele Siu’ilikutapu and Glyn Carpenter, to lead prayers intercessing for the city's needs, including : on poverty and the housing crisis, wisdom for the new mayor, council and local boards, ethnic and migrant welfare, families and marriage.

The gathering will be a major multi-cultural event open to all, with 700 people expected to participate.
