In Memoriam: Bishop Muru Walters

Bishop Muru Walters has died aged 90, and on Monday 19 February hundreds of mourners gathered at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to farewell him and offer their support to his wife Lorraine and whānau.

Bishop Richard Wallace has been laid to rest at his birth place among his Kāti Irakehu people in Wairewa-Little River following a funeral service held in yesterday’s sweltering hot sun at Wairewa Marae.
