When it comes to the big-scale international events like ACC15, there’s not much doubt about it – that’s when the three -tikanga church comes into its own.
Take the simple matter of hospitality for a start.
Our guests were hosted not at one festive dinner, but at three, with each tikanga hosting its own evening, each completely different in style, cuisine and entertainment.
On Friday evening, November 2, it was Tikanga Pasifika’s turn – and they left no shell on the beach unturned at their venue for the evening, Tatai Hono Marae in Grafton.
If you were there, you probably got a fresh take on Archbishop Winston’s moana theology – as wave after wave of outstanding and joyful cultural entertainment splashed on to the stage, each act linked and undergirded by thunderous Pasefika praise: Let there be light, be light, be light!
