Rev Canon George Ehau, RIP

One of the best-loved priests in the Anglican Maori Diocese of Te Wai Pounamu, Rev Canon George Ehau, has died suddenly.

Kua tae re rongo, kua hinga a George Ehau, te Kenana o te rohe o Otautahi, o te Amorangi o Te Waipounamu. He pononga tuturu a te Atua, he karere o te rongopai, he matapuna o te karaipiture.

He kaka wahanui o te Hahi Karaitiana.

He toka tumoana o te Hahi Mihingare.

He totara whakamarumaru o te Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa. Kua hikoi atu i te hikoiranga hei whakangaronga atu mona.

The Rev'd Canon George Ehau, Priest-in-Charge, Te Hepara Pai in Christchurch, died suddenly on Thursday 31 March 2016. George was a faithful pastor, preacher, evangelist and teacher over many years in Christchurch.

He and his wife Wyn were a devoted couple, and loving parents and grandparents to their children and mokopuna. His tangi will be held in Christchurch at the Wai-ora Trust, Harewood, which George and Wyn established in 1981. More details of the funeral arrangements will be communicated over the next day or so.

We commend George, our brother in the priesthood, to Almighty God, and may light perpetual shine upon him. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
